“Through the challenges of life, I always enjoy thinking of the happy faces of my pupils, who are proud of their music. In a way, I believe that music can highlight the innate kindness that everyone has inside. Friends and partners place their stone in this whole arts edifice, each in their own special way. Sofia Skopou Piano School aims to teach pupils who would like to perform at any level, from students who are beginners to those at a professional level. Music fills the soul and this inspiration can become a daily creative routine which then can evolve into various forms of personal expression and culture, leading to wellness and a holistic approach of life. To create an impact on society, the school also extends this holistic vision to its cultural centre on Samos Island in Greece, which is currently being developed. This centre has the motto “Evzoia in Nature”, so that people will be encouraged to pursue wellbeing in life.
Sofia Skopou
Sofia Skopou Piano School provides studies where “Knowledge meets Inspiration”. With twenty-seven years of experience and seven years of living in the Netherlands, Skopou has worked as a freelancer at International School Utrecht since October 2018 till up to date. The pianist and teacher meets high standards of teaching with specialization in classical repertoire
Having developed a rapid, easy, approachable and encouraging learning method that meets everyone’s unique learning needs, students of the school are able to overcome basic technical problems within a short period of time. Because of the specific nature of the piano, this method allows students to present themselves on stage and develop performance skills early in their piano training.
The Sofia Skopou Piano School offers lessons to young children, starting from four years old, teenagers, as well as adults. Some of them have the opportunity to continue their existing knowledge of the instrument or their musical studies, and others to make their first start in the world of music.
Music is a path with beautiful moments, but also sometimes with setbacks: it requires practice, patience, diligence and persistence. Even if the prospective students do not consciously choose the musical career through the acquisition of a formal degree, they will benefit because music heals and soothes the soul, shapes aesthetics and creates the conditions for the development of a sensitive and intelligent child or adult, affecting both character and personality.
